Welcome to Queen City HiRailers!
Mission Statement
“The primary purpose of the organization shall be to construct and display a 3 rail “O”-gauge modular model railroad. This modular railroad will be used to promote interest in O-gauge model railroads, to encourage general interest in model railroading of all scales and to provide a model railroad for members’ use to operate their equipment.”
Who Are We?
Queen City HiRailers is an “O” Gauge three rail Modular Train Group. We are located in the Ross School District Administration Building in Ross, Ohio (north of Cincinnati). We have three rooms on the third floor to set up our modules, run trains on them, work on our equipment, build more modules, and hold our meetings.
There are several HO and N train clubs in other rooms on the third floor.
Our primary purpose is to construct and display a three rail “O” gauge modular railroad. This modular railroad is used to promote interest in “O” gauge model railroads, and to provide a model railroad for members to use and on which to operate their equipment.
What does “HiRailer” mean?
HiRailer, or HiRailers is a term commonly applied to toy train operators who prefer prototypical operations and a realistic operating environment on their model railroad – often including scale-proportioned and detailed locomotives, rolling stock and accessories – even though the track itself may have three rails and/or a high profile.
Our Goal
Our goal is to maintain and build modular layouts and run trains on them.

“Queen City HiRailers,
Just a note to extend my sincere thanks for putting on the Green Township Train Show. It was, as always, a great event. My grand-kids, wife, and I truly enjoyed it. I can only imagine the time, effort and dedication that go into providing the public with the opportunity to view the trains. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Judge Pat Dinkelacker”
Our Layout Status:
Our original L. O. T. S. modular layout with double track mainlines is permanently set up in the Ross Schools Administration Building for members’ use. The modular layout we transport and use for display is a three track mainline built to Independent HiRailers Standards and is designed for flexibility of layout size and arrangement. Our display sizes typically range from 18 feet x 40 feet to 48 feet x 52 feet including a 40 feet to 52 feet through yard inside the layout.
Our members are currently building more modules and scenic layovers to continue to enlarge and/or change the appearance of our setup.
Our Activities:
Our activities are informal and include meetings for club business, “How To” sessions, helping someone with one of their modules, work sessions, and visiting other layouts or collections.
Our business meetings are normally held on the second Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM at the Ross School Administration Building, but can be changed by membership approval. We start our meetings on time! They last about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Sometimes we are there early and will stay later to work or play with trains.
